Affordance of Educational Technology

The main “affordance” of educational technology is

• Connectivity and social rapport
• Collaborative information discovery and sharing
• Content creation
• Knowledge and information aggregation and content modification

Web 2.0 and social software are helpful tools for students, educators are able to use those tools and teach their students valuable knowledge and skills needed using these new technologies. For example, Voice-Thread is a great tool to use for active learning, story-telling, collaborative work and so much more. With these tools our students are able to touch upon all of the “affordance” of educational technology.


VoiceThread
The VoiceThread that I created is to start an art discussion/critiques. Where my students will be able to view, discuss, and analyze different works of art. I would also use this program for peer art critiques, students will be able to view each others works of art and leave comments or suggestions.
